allow me to introduce one of my favourite green smoothies, as in, ever.
I love this little green elixir so much, it felt wrong keeping it from you. this one is packed with iron and protein thanks to the hemp powder and spirulina which also gives it this intense lush green colour. If you crave a creamy, sweet yet healthy and wonderfully nutritious smoothie, this one is for you. yes even if you’re not into green smoothies.
trust me, it tastes like a real treat.
the sweet nectar of the mango mixed with some leafy greens will take you straight to the jungle. And by adding some coconut milk and bananas you get this smooth and dreamy texture. a flavour combination I’ll never tire of. don’t forget to add the (soaked) chia seeds for all the good, healthy fats.
chia seeds are packed with omega-3 essential fatty acids, antioxidants, protein, calcium, iron, potassium, vitamins A, B, E, and D, as well as other key minerals. when water is added, these tiny seeds will absorb up to 12 times their weight in water and form a gel. by doing this it will activate the seeds and make it more bio-available to your body.
nothing wrong with giving your body some love by helping it with this genius hack.
this green elixir filled with earthly goodness will make you feel vibrantly alive.
I recommend savouring this smoothie slowly, without any distractions.
sit back, relax and let it light up your whole being with every sip you take.

2 ripe bananas
1 large handful spinach or kale
1 cup (250 ml) coconut milk (or any dairy-free milk)
1 tbsp Spirulina
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp hemp powder
1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
gently mix 1 tablespoon chia seeds and 2 - 3 tablespoons hot water together. Stir for about 2 to 5 minutes until you have this thick, gooey, gel-like consistency.
to a blender, add mango, bananas, spinach, (soaked) chia seeds, oats, hemp powder, spirulina and coconut milk.
Blend until creamy and smooth. If the smoothie is too thick, add more coconut milk to thin.
taste and adjust flavour as needed. Adding more mango and banana for sweetness, spinach for that earthy flavour and spirulina for a more intense vibrant green colour.
