i get asked all the time about food.
‘how do i have a better relationship with my body?’
‘how do i overcome my eating disorder?’
‘how do i go vegan?’
and i’m going to start creating blog posts to answer all of these questions. obviously, we’re all different, but turns out we’re also on a similar journey of healing. so what has worked for me, might work for you too!
at the end of this post, you’ll be able to sign up for my free intuitive eating course. it’s full of videos, recipes, mediations, ebook, and so much more.
my biggest tip to improve your relationship with your body and your food is gratitude.
gratitude is important because it shows the universe that you are present, in the moment, and happy with where you are right now.
in a place of gratitude, there is no more searching, there is no more wanting to get better, there is just right here and you somehow found a way to enjoy it.
which is a rare thing for humans to accomplish. being happy with where they’re right now..
but whether you know it or not, there are so many things for you to be grateful for, like so many things…
i know that life can be hard and there is a lot of fucked up things going on, but to be honest, there is also so much good happening with our planet right now in this moment. so do your best to focus on anything that can make you smile (like the sun coming up, or the stars, or the snowy mountains, or the big blue ocean, or a boy 😉)
here’s the best part… when you’re grateful, it immediately connects you to your higher self, it connects you to the divine and in this moment, you are making way for more good things to come through. so turns out, being grateful is actually a really selfish thing for you to be doing…
it really is the number 1 way to improve your overall state of being and overall happiness…
so here is the action step to take today to improve your relationship with your food….
before you actually take a bit of your next meal, sit in prayer, gratitude, silence whatever you want to call it.
bless your food. this is something that ricky is obsessed with doing. he literally will not eat food, unless he blessed it and sent loving thoughts and vibrations to it. this is because he is such believer in the law of attraction and that thoughts create things, and that everything object is really just a set of vibrations… that he makes sure to send positive vibrations to anything that goes inside of him.
in his mind, there really is no difference between an organic, fresh vegan salad and a shitty granola bar you’d pick up at an airport… both are vibrations and both can be transmuted to love. both can enter the body and provide healing and energy, if and only if you set an intention to transmute the energy to that of love.
before you eat, do your best to put yourself in a state of feeling good. because when food enters your body, it’s becoming a part of you.
so what part of you do you want the food you’re eating to become?
do you want it to become the sad, negative part? or the happy, loving part of you?
the state you eat in matters a whole lot. and i know from experience that when i eat from a place of lack or fear or jealousy that i never feel good after i eat. and this is because the food i’m eating, is fueling my negativity.
but when you spend just 2 minutes before your next meal raising your vibration to that of gratitude and appreciation for all of the food that sits in front of you, you and the food are becoming one and your vibration is rising high.
so just for today, before your next meal i want you to give this exercise a try:
with your meal right in front of you, close your eyes.
put your hands over your food. feel the vibrations pouring out of your hands and onto the food.
feel gratitude for the food, for the universe, for nature, for the plate that your food rests in, the sun for growing it, the water for cleaning it, the fire for cooking it, the tools to blend it, the people for preparing it, the colors, the smells, etc. and allow the law of attraction to take over your thoughts and to keep bringing you more and more good feelings.
enjoy your food. slowly and with intention.
give this a try before eat your next meal.
i’ll be sending more tips tomorrow!
